Smart Kids Team Wins Trophy!
On Saturday 10th March 2018, approximately 21 teams converged for the finals of the 2017/2018 season of the FIRST LEGO League Championship at the National Cycling Velodrome in Balmain, Couva.
The theme for this season was Hydro Dynamics, which explored the human water cycle; how we find, transport, use and dispose of water. Teams were challenged to choose and solve a real-world Hydro-Dynamics problem. They were also required to build, test and program an autonomous robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS technology to solve a set of missions in the Robot Game. Throughout the season the kids had to demonstrate the Core Values of discovery, teamwork and professionalism.
Smart Kids Educational Club’s AQUA Tech Team took home the award for Best Mechanical Design for their robot creation at the First LEGO League National Championship 2017-2018! The team also placed 6th in the Robot Game! Thank you to the team’s Mentor Bill Henry and Industry Expert Mr. Dial Ramkissoon.
